Le Règne Animal

Description

The world is tormented by a mysterious wave of mutations. No extra arms, legs, or alienlike features, but a gradual transformation from human to animal. Now that François’ wife is one of the people afflicted by this phenomenon, he and his son Émile embark on a life-altering quest for answers and solutions. With this film, director Thomas Cailley follows up his award-winning debut Les Combattants. After receiving critical acclaim at the Cannes Film Festival, the film will represent France in the Best International Film category at the 2024 Oscars.

Bonkers! Competition

Bonkers! is a whirlwind trip through innovative, strange, and otherworldly films that break the boundaries of genres and look for new ways to reverently smash sacred houses. Sometimes absurd, sometimes shocking, but always good, or at least good for a heavy discussion afterwards. Join us down the rabbit hole and experience the film festival in its, shall we say, purest form.
