LIFF was founded in 2006. Back then, the festival lasted merely two days! Since then, we have grown into one of the largest film festivals in the Netherlands. Every year, LIFF will guarantee major international film premieres, interesting storytellers from all over the film world and, of course, the best parties!

The program for LIFF 2026 will be revealed about a month before the festival.

You can see and download a digital version of the LIFF 2025 program here.

If you want to keep up with the latest LIFF news, you can subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on Facebook and Instagram to make sure you don’t miss anything!

You can contact LIFF through [email protected]. We do our best to get back to you as soon as possible. During the festival, you’re also welcome at the box office or the merchandise desk in Trianon. You can also check out our Contact page. LIFF is not reachable by phone.

Visiting LIFF

Opening hours cinema

The cinema locations Trianon and Kijkhuis open 30 minutes prior to the first screening of the day. These locations will close 30 minutes after the last film of the day has ended.

Doors open

The doors at the cinema will open 15-30 minutes prior to each screening.

Please arrive at the cinema on time. It is not possible to enter the screening hall after the film has started.

If a film has received a 16+ rating, only visitors aged 16 and older will be granted access to the film screening.

Opening hours box office

The box office at Trianon opens 30 minutes prior to the first screening of the day and will close 30 minutes after the last film of the day has started.

There are no box offices at locations outside of Trianon.

Unfortunately, we cannot allow you to enter a screening after the film has started. Screening halls open 15 minutes before the film. Please be on time.

LIFF takes place in the city centre of Leiden. Most screenings are in Trianon and Kijkhuis, but a few specials are shown elsewhere. The location is always stated on the website as well as your movie ticket.

Cinemas

Trianon

Kijkhuis
Vrouwenkerksteeg 10
2312 WS Leiden

You can easily reach Leiden by train. From the central station, it takes about 10 minutes to walk to the various festival locations, or a few minutes to get there by bus. Do you prefer to travel by car? In that case, you can park your car in one of the municipal parking locations, which are also quite close to the festival locations.

Wheelchair accessibility differs per location and screening hall. The new cinemas that are going to be built, will be completely wheelchair-accessible.

Trianon

Trianon 1 has some wheelchair spaces. The entrance of the screening hall is slightly sloping. The building has a wheelchair-friendly toilet. In Trianon 2 and 3, it is possible for us to create wheelchair spaces for you. In these screening rooms, the wheelchair is placed in front of the first row of seats in the cinema. Large mobility scooters only fit in Trianon 1.

Kijkhuis

Kijkhuis 1 is accessible with a wheelchair. A ramp can be laid out for you to make the entrance of the building accessible. The toilets in the Kijkhuis are not wheelchair-friendly.

Het Leidse Volkshuis

Het Volkshuis is easily accessible for visitors using a wheelchair or walker. The screening room is located on the first floor, which can be reached by elevator. A LIFF staff member will always be nearby to assist. Unfortunately, it is not possible to visit Het Volkshuis with a mobility scooter.

It is not possible to select specific seats when buying your tickets; you can sit wherever you want! The doors at the cinema hall will open 15 to 30 minutes before the start of the film.

Ticketing

It is possible to purchase tickets online and at the box offices during the festival.

Online

Regular ticket sales start September 25. Passholders, for example, LIFF Friends or press, are able to order tickets 48 hours earlier.

On location

During the festival, you can purchase tickets at the box office in Trianon. This box office is PIN Only.

At external locations, outside of the cinemas, there are no box offices. You will be able to purchase tickets for these special screenings through a QR code at the entrance – unless the screening is sold out.

Opening hours box office

The box office at Trianon opens 30 minutes prior to the first screening of the day and will close 30 minutes after the last film of the day has started.

If you have purchased your tickets online, you will receive an email with your ticket and a barcode. You do not have to print this e-ticket; you can just show the e-ticket on a smartphone or tablet at the entrance of the cinema.

Cineville

This year, you no longer need to activate your Cineville ticket(s) in advance at the activation kiosk. Simply have your Cineville pass scanned at the door to get access to the screening. Please note: arrive on time. For sold-out screenings, your order will be cancelled 10 minutes before the start of the film. Of course, this does not apply if there is still a long line waiting to enter the theatre.

Are you using your temporary Cineville pass? Then have this pass scanned at the door, even if you have already received your new pass.

If you have paid for your ticket, but have not immediately received an e-mail with your e-ticket, you can first refresh your inbox, and check whether the tickets haven’t ended up in your spam box.

Can you not find the e-mail? You can find all of your tickets in your personal MyLIFF-area. On the website, go to the little icon in the top right corner and log in. Click on ‘Hallo [your first name]’ and choose ‘Tickets’. There you will see an overview of all of your purchased tickets. There, you are able to e-mail them to yourself again.

If you have taken a good look everywhere, you can always send an e-mail to [email protected]. We will then check whether the order has been registered in the ticket system, and can send you the tickets once more. Some emails can be delayed up to a day.

It is not possible to return purchased tickets. Your purchase is final as soon as the payment order has been issued. If something has gone wrong with your order, please send an email with a brief explanation to [email protected].

Cineville tickets can be cancelled up to 15 minutes before the start of the film. This can be done through the ‘My LIFF’ page on this website.
