Description
With his beautiful, sensitive family dramas, Hirozaku Kore-eda (Shoplifters, Broker) has managed to move us like no other. With Monster—the film which won him two awards at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year—Kore-eda takes a slightly darker, yet still emotional, path. A thrilling story about the young Minato who doesn’t appear to be doing very well, his single mom, and his teacher. The masterful use of different perspectives allows Kore-eda to slowly expose what’s really going on here. And all of that accompanied by one of the final scores from Ryuichi Sakamoto!
