Description
An unknown disease spreads through a remote Chilean village. Among its residents, a myth emerges that gay men transmit it via a single gaze. When Lidia’s community of queer outcasts falls victim to this superstition and the collective hysteria that follows, she confronts the townspeople head-on. An impressive debut film about the stigmas surrounding the AIDS crisis and the solidarity of queer communities in 1980s Chile. Winner of the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival.
