Description
Twelve-year-old Maya moves from England to India, where she is reunited with her father. His impressively luxurious home is funded by his sand mining operation. When Maya witnesses an accident at the mines, that suggests her father’s involvement in some unusual activities, she has to navigate the boundaries between loyalty, complicity and love. This deliberately small-scale debut examines corruption through a child’s wide-open eyes.
