Description
Congo Boy follows 17-year-old Robert, who is a refugee in the Central African Republic and cares for his four siblings after his parents are imprisoned. Balancing school, odd jobs, violence, and displacement, he pursues his dream of becoming a musician through a life-changing music competition. The film premiered at the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival, with lead-actor Bradley Fiomona Dembeasset winning the section’s prize for Best Actor.
