Description
Is something sinister lurking beneath the painfully dull daily life of these Japanese convenience store employees? Sakai, one of the clerks, is unsettled by frustrated customers, smug managers and lethargic co-workers. In Anymart, horror emerges from the grueling routines of retail work: endless repetition and creeping alienation. The film is a carefully crafted slow burn that was awarded the FIPRESCI Prize at the Berlinale earlier this year.
