Description

What happens if your life turns out to be a movie, and someone else is directing it? Madoka and Kazuma live separate lives, but this changes when they step foot into a small Tokyo cinema. They realize they can interact with, and guide each other on a cinema screen. What could possibly go wrong here? The directorial debut of Makoto Ueda, the acclaimed writer of previous LIFF favorites Beyond the Infinite Two Minutes and River. Bonkers! Competition

Bonkers! is a whirlwind trip through innovative, strange, and otherworldly films that break the boundaries of genres and look for new ways to reverently smash sacred houses. Sometimes absurd, sometimes shocking, but always good, or at least good for a heavy discussion afterwards. Join us down the rabbit hole and experience the film festival in its, shall we say, purest form.
