The Gold Rush

Description

Charlie Chaplin, who doesn’t love him? In 1925, Chaplin directed and starred in The Gold Rush, a silent film about the Gold Rush in the rugged wilderness of Canada’s Yukon region. The Lone Prospector searches for gold under harsh conditions. During his quest he doesn’t only find gold but also love. Watch this golden film in a golden venue! Discover the fascinating role of gold throughout time and across cultures in the current exhibition Enchanted by GOLD at Wereldmuseum Leiden.

Some of our visitors can participate in a guided tour of the Wereldmuseum prior to the film (12:15-13:00). Select the ticket type ‘Special incl. tour’ to register for this tour.
