Description
Head over heels in love, Fleur and Julian embark on a daring mission: to marry in all 22 countries where women can legally marry each other. After only a few ceremonies, however, their world-spanning journey comes to an abrupt and tragic halt. Julian, based on Fleur Pierets’ acclaimed memoirs, marks the stunning feature debut of 26-year-old director Cato Kusters. Fresh from its world premiere at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), this moving story of love, (marriage) equality and grief is a must-see in our First Feature Competition.
The screening on October 19 will have English subtitles. All other screenings will have Dutch subtitles.
The screening on October 14 will be followed by a Q&A with Cato Kusters, Laurence Roothooft, Fleur Pierets, and Angelo Tijssens.
