Description
Seventeen-year-old Christy is expelled from the foster care system and sent to live with his estranged brother Shane in Cork’s tough Knocknaheeny district. As the two navigate their uneasy reunion, they’re forced to confront a turbulent past and an uncertain future. Christy is a quietly powerful coming-of-age story, remarkable for its emotional depth, natural performances, and unexpected softness. What could be a bleak tale of displacement becomes a hopeful, deeply human journey. With an atmosphere both raw and intimate, the film captures the fragility of youth, the strength of brotherhood, and the quiet courage it takes to begin again.
The screenings on October 13 and 14 will be followed by a Q&A with director Brendan Canty.
