Description
Sun Ra’s Space is the Place (1974) is a kaleidoscopic Afrofuturist sci-fi film starring the legendary jazz musician as a cosmic traveller on a mission to create a new world where Black can live free from oppression. Blending surreal imagery, philosophical musings and Sun Ra’s otherworldly music, this avant-garde masterpiece explores liberation, identity and the boundless power of imagination.
The film will be screened at the National Museum of Antiquities, accompanied by an introduction from curator Daniel Soliman.
