Description
Loosely based on the non-fiction book You and I – The Illness Suddenly Get Worse, All of a Sudden follows a nursing-home director introducing a compassionate care method called ‘Humanitude’ while facing her colleague’s resistance. Her perspective shifts after encountering a terminally ill Japanese playwright. From director Ryusuke Hamaguchi (Drive My Car, Evil Does Not Exist) comes his first French-language film, which can only be described as tender, contemplative and human. Actors Virginie Efira and Tao Okamoto grace the screen and shared the Best Actress award at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
