Description
Beloved LIFF-director Martin McDonagh (The Banshees of Inisherin, 2022) returns to the festival with his newest film, Wild Horse Nine. It takes you back to Chile, 1973. Cynical CIA operatives Lee (Sam Rockwell) and Chris (John Malkovich) swap Santiago for Easter Island. Their mission unravels into a dangerous web of secrets, conspiracies and troubled history, as a new group of characters threaten their remote island assignment. Amidst the beautiful scenery, black humor intertwines with reflections on life and regrets to give you a cocktail of profound feelings and laughter. With this performance, John Malkovich won the prize for best actor at the filmfestival in Venice.
