19:30 - 21:17 Trianon 1

Katherine Newbury’s long-standing career as a talk show host is not going too well: her material is not as original and quick-witted as it once was, and the big TV bosses want her gone. Enter Molly Patel, a chaotic whirlwind and the only female member of her staff. She’s armed with a healthy dose of ambition and humor, and becomes friends close with Katherine -- thanks to their shared love for great one-liners, and despite their apparent cultural and generational differences. Along the way, Katherine discovers that millennials aren’t that scary after all, and can, in fact, be quite charming. An uplifting comedy about friendship, getting older and surviving in a world that is, thankfully, ever-changing. Directed by TV veteran Nisha Ganatra (Transparent, You Me Her, Dear White People, Brooklyn Nine-Nine).

Une Colonie
Une Colonie

Winning Best Picture at the Canadian Screen Awards and a Crystal Bear (Berlinale) is no small feat for a feature debut. A Colony is an honest and at times awkward story about coming of age in a small town, subtly set against the background of Canada’s colonialism and indigenous culture. Unique and touching.
