Please note that both the introduction and the film are in Dutch. We apologize for the inconvenience. In the documentary Aapje Aram (Ape Aram), a group of scientists searches for answers. An anthropologist, a primatologist, an evolutionary biologist and a museum director travel, each along their own path, to mount Kenepai on Borneo. This is the place where the ape died. It’s a journey to the other side of the world, but also through time. Where did Aram come from. What bond do the local Dayak people have with the orangutan? And are there still orangutans in the area today?

Well, you know, just another World War II satire-comedy about a German boy struggling to confront his own nationalism with the help of his completely insane imaginary friend, Adolf Hitler. It’s one of those things that is right up Taika Waititi’s alley. And we. Can’t. Wait.
